The World Bank recently announced its “Zero Routine Flaring by 2030” initiative. The initiative brings together governments, oil companies and development institutions who recognize that the current flaring situation is unsustainable from both an environmental and resource management perspective.

How can you contribute to this initiative?

Checking internal passing valves can definitely contribute to a more sustainable and environment-friendly approach.

By clearly mapping your flare infrastructure and quantifying the amount of product lost in these internal leaking valves, the biggest leaks can immediately be found and repaired by maintenance. Repairing a small number of large leaks leads to an important return on investment, typically already within a year.
