The Sniffers is an independent service provider which identifies current and future leaks in pipelines and installations in the oil and gas industry provides advice on how to reduce emissions, energy losses and maintain pipeline network integrity. The Sniffers supports HSE, Maintenance, Plant and Asset managers in reaching their KPIs for safety, health, environment, energy and output.

The Sniffers is headquartered in Balen, Belgium. The company has an important international client portfolio and is providing its services throughout Europe, the Middle East, South America and other regions in the world.

International Business Manager – New Services


The Sniffers have a long standing track record of realizing successful  projects around the world. Driven by the high attention for minimizing global warming, limit environmental air emission and reducing energy consumption, there are opportunities to develop and launch new services for The Sniffers.  The key focus for this individual will be: understanding these new market needs, define and create new services and launch these new services with targeted accounts in the Oil & Gas and Chemical Industry. In this endeavour, the Business manager can rely on a strong brand reputation and will be supported by an in-depth knowledgeable specialists organization.

The successful candidate is especially attracted to work within a dynamic and growing international SME environment.

Function description:

  • You understand the latest trends in minimizing environmental emission and reducing energy consumption in the broad Global Oil and Gas Industry. You meet strategic leaders and understand the needs of these key customers in relation to these new business requirements.
  • You design new business service lines that meet these customer needs and take advantage of the wealthy operational capabilities of The Sniffers and WTS Energy, the parent company.
  • You develop a marketing plan to launch these new services into the targeted market.
  • You prospect key accounts, you develop strong business relations with strategic decision makers, you participate in high level discussions.
  • You win customers for our strategic offer and contract the projects.
  • You train and coach colleague Sales Managers to replicate success with other key accounts around the world.


  • You have a master degree in engineering or economic studies. You are passionate by technical matters.
  • You are familiar with the Oil & Gas Industry and you have a minimum of 10+ years of relevant international sales and business development experience in B2B (multi-year) Services.
  • You understand the trends within the Oil and Gas Industry.
  • You are fluent in English.
  • You have successful experiences in creating and launching new services
  • You have a positive mind-set, you have effective presentation skills in a variety of settings inside or outside the organization.
  • You are working towards your goals in a structured manner.  You are a good listener and  a strong dealmaker who understands the dynamics of sales in multinational corporations.
  • As a person you show a high level of persuasiveness, resilience, tenacity and you enjoy the hands-on and pragmatic way of doing business in an SME.
  • You like to work in a multicultural environment: you have the necessary communications skills and  diplomatic capabilities to deal with different expectations and backgrounds. You have a successful sales track record.
  • You are strong in building project offers. You develop long-term relationships with clients through managing and interpreting their requirements.
  • This position is located in our HQ in Balen Belgium, or our office in Den Hague Netherlands, or Dubai UAE, and requires travel within Europe and GCC.
