Fitness For Purpose Assessments (FFP)

FFP serves as a rational basis for defining flaw acceptance limits and allows engineers to distinguish between which flaws and damages are acceptable and which are not.

Using our Pipeline Risk & Integrity Management Software tool, PRIMS, we review the inspection results and description of the detected anomalies, we assess metal loss and dents, and we provide you with recommendations for further investigation, remediation and inspection interval.

All this information is gathered in an FFP report so you know exactly whether it is safe to operate the pipeline and you comply with regulatory requirements.

Corrosion Growth Analysis (CGA)

Pipeline operators are faced with questions about the presence, location, and severity of corrosion in their pipelines. In addition, many challenges arise estimating a realistic corrosion growth rate (CGR).

We perform ILI inspections to help you understand the degradation rates. Moreover, our PRIMS software tool allows reliable corrosion rate distribution for determining long-term management strategies.

PRIMS highlights any areas with high CGR and is the best basis for remaining life assessment.

Remaining Life Assessments (RLA)

Applying reliable corrosion growth rates over time leads to estimates of future condition that can be used with the same fitness for purpose methodologies to assess the future economic life of the pipeline.

Improved insight into pipeline maintenance and repair needs is the best basis for cost optimization and investment planning. Additionally, it reduces the likelihood of unwanted events.

Pipeline Lifecycle Assessments (LCA)

Based on FFP and remaining Life Assessments, the Lifecycle Assessment offers economic modelling of repair / replace / investment strategies over the desired service life of the pipeline.

Considered factors include desired service life and financial benefit of pipeline, expected level of repairs, projected repair costs and projected replacement cost. The report contains recommendations for the optimal repair/replace strategy based on existing and projected factors.
